Provincial issues

Province 1 chief minister Rajendra Rai has failed to expand his cabinet from 2 and half months. According to the CM Rai informed that the government failed in the timely cabinet expansion due to the ongoing convention of parties. Similarly, Rai also preparing to increase from 7 into 11 to 13 ministries for the distribution of power-sharing among five coalition governments.

The chief of Karnali Province, Tilak Priyar has summoned the ninth winter session meeting on January 12. Last time, the Karnali had organized the assembly meeting on November 30 for the taking of vote of confidence of chief minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi.

Cadres of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) has pressurized the government to declare Birgunj as the capital city of Province 2. The protesters have also planned a sit-in protest in front of the residence of Province 2 Chief Minister. Similarly, the committee (formed to study related to the naming of provinces and capital) has concluded that the voting process will start in the third week of January for the name and capital city.

Economy and Development

On January 7, concerned bodies in the federal government have discussed the implementation of the capital budget. The Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Renu Kumari Yadav said the government spends a huge budget at the end of every fiscal year. Similarly, the National Planning Commission chair Biswo Poudel also informed that the government is failing to spend capital budget dispute amended four times of the public procurement rule.

Although the government has failed to spend capital budget despite various efforts. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has also discussed with ministries the expenditure of the capital budget. Similarly, the Ministry of Finance also asked the ministries for capital budget expenditure. But the slow budget capital budget expenditure has been seen now.

Provincial Public Service Commission

The Provincial Public Service Commission (PPSC) of Sudurpaschim Province has not been able to advertise the vacancies lack of detailed information that how many employees are required at the provincial level. According to the secretary of the PPSC, Durgadatt Bista, the commission has already prepared a curriculum, regulation, guideline, and online application system.

The PPSC of Karnali Province has advertised vacancy for the first time the requirement of permanent employees for the provincial offices. The commission has advertised vacancies for non-technical/technical 5th level posts.
