In a Rastriya Prajatantra Party election for party president, nationalist, pro-Hindu and pro-monarchic Rajendra Lingden, receiving 200 votes, defeated Kamal Thapa. However, Thapa’s panel members won many office bearer posts.

Nepali Congress 14th General Convention is scheduled for December 10-12 in Kathmandu. Apart from Deuba, another faction is led by Ram Chandra Poudel, who was defeated by Deuba in the 13th general convention of March 2016. However, the Poudel camp is still divided on the matter of a consensus candidate for party president.

Previous spokesperson of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority Pradip Kumar Koirala has been given a new role and has been appointed as the spokesperson of the Home Ministry.

Bibeksheel Sajha Party, which decided to merge with the Citizens Discussion Forum and the Rashtriya Janata Durbar Party on October 12, is planning to hold a mass rally in the Valley for the first time. Party spokesperson Sharad Raj Pathak said that further information would be announced through a meeting on Saturday.
