Human Rights 

On 10 January, stateless Nepali Citizens staged a sit-in protest at Maitighar, Mandala demanding the government to provide citizenship immediately as per the constitutional provision.

Gender and Social Inclusion 

Following the agreement between the National Land Commission and the local level chiefs, the Commission has started the process of distributing land to landless Dalits and landless squatters in 27 districts.

Kathmandu Metropolitan Police  have arrested Uma Shahi Thakuri, 48 a “witch doctor” after allegedly killing a 14-year-old girl during the course of treatment. 

A ward member of Kailali Ghodaghodi Municipality-4, and four school teachers from the same ward, have been arrested on the charge of covering up the incident of rape of a local 77-year-old woman.
