Medical Equipment donated by Embassy of Israel

National Trauma Centre NAMS received ABG machine and patient monitor from Israeli Embassy to fight against the pandemic and provide other health services. Israeli Embassy issued a press release stating that it is looking ahead for extending future cooperation with Nepal in several sectors encompassing health and medical sector.

Fall in foreign investment pledges

In Nepal, foreign direct investment pledges has suffered a massive fall of 12.68 per cent in the initial nine months of the current financial year, mostly due to the plunge in the commitment from India. The investors are playing waiting game as the second and third wave of Covid-19 pandemic is kicking in. Moreover, the unstable internal politics has also made the investors dubious about investing at the moment.

Nepal held talks with India to procure Covid-19 vaccines

Foreign Ministers of Nepal and India had a telephone conversation to discuss Covid crisis management and procurement of vaccines. Nepal is yet to receive 1 million doses of Covidshield vaccines. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, India has guaranteed continuous cooperation to Nepal to combat the Covid-19 crisis. However, it is unclear as to when Nepal will receive the remaining doses of vaccines as per the Foreign Ministry of Nepal. Further, Health Minister of Nepal has also requested his India counterpart to speed up the supply of vaccines. Foreign Minister also discussed formulation of joint protocols on the border points for Covid screening and testing.
