Israel sent the consignment of 563 thousand syringes to Nepal on February 2. This consignment is an addition to previous assistance to help the Nepal government combat Covid-19.

Australian Ambassador Felicity Volk held a meeting with Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Minister Pampha Bhusal on January 31. In the meeting, the ambassador expressed the Australian government’s interest in offering its assistance and cooperation in hydropower, clean energy, and the advancement of electric vehicles in Nepal.

Nepal government has agreed to accept Japanese grant assistance of NRS. 2.61 billion for implementation of the Biratnagar Drinking Water Improvement Project.

Nepal received 1.3 million Covid-19 vaccines from France and Italy through the Covax facility on January 26. The French government provided 685,400 doses of AstraZeneca and Italy provided 663,600 doses of the same.

Locals of the Susta have reported that Indian authorities are building 27- KM road on the southern side of four municipalities, Susta, Pratappur, Sarawal, and Palhinandan of Nawalparasi Weast district. According to the Susta rural municipality Chief, locals have forwarded a memorandum to the prime minister through the chief district officer to take appropriate actions.

Nepal received grant assistance from Japan through UNICEF to enhance the vaccine cold chain system. Japan has provided 9 walk-in-coolers, 38 solar-run vaccine refrigerators, 1,109 long-range vaccine carriers, and 53 cold boxes to strengthen the management, storage, and transportation of Covid-19 vaccines.

Secretary of Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Indian Ambassador signed a Memorandum of Understanding with India on February 1 to construct a motorable bridge over Mahakali bridge under Indian grant assistance on February 1. The bridge connects Darchula (Nepal) with Dharchula (India).
