India’s grant to Nepal increased: During the Indian budget presentation by the Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, it was revealed that India’s annual grant to Nepal has increased by 12.72% standing at INR 9.92 billion. However, this figure is less compared to the grant Nepal had received in 2019-2020. The grant committed by India for Nepal is the second highest after grant for Bhutan.

Nepal’s reaction to the Myanmar military coup: According to analysts, Nepal’s reaction to the military coup in Myanmar was very ‘timid’ and that Nepal didn’t stand strongly enough in the support of democracy in Myanmar. Nepal, despite not having any strategic interest in Myanmar, failed to express a strong stance and remained diplomatic.
