Seminar on 60 years of Nepal-Israel relations: The Israeli embassy collaborating with the Center for Diplomatic Dialogue (CeDiD) arranged a seminar on “Six Decades of Nepal-Israel Relations” on March 18 celebrating 60 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries. The Foreign Minister of Nepal along with the Israeli Ambassador expressed their mutual wish to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries in the upcoming days as well.
India anxious over increasing import of soybean oil from Nepal: Ministry of Foreign Affairs received a letter from the Indian government, expressing concerns over increasing export of soybean to India from Nepal. India has sought for product authentication on the Operation Certification Procedure for rules of origin under the South Asian Free Trade Area (SAFTA). India imposes non-tariff barriers when import of Nepali products to India begins to rise.
President Bhandari visits Bangladesh: President Bidya Devi Bhandari along with Foreign Minister flew down to Dhaka on March 22 on a friendly invitation by Mahammad Abdul Hamid. During their 2-day stay, the president signed 4 Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) on tourism cooperation, sanitary and phytosanitary cooperation, cultural exchange programme, as well as signed a Letter of Exchange to designate Rohanpur-Singhabad Railway as alternate transit route.
