According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 113,175 people have been vaccinated across 191 COVID vaccine centers as the vaccination drive in Nepal was launched a week ago. Priority has been given the frontline health workers, security personnel, sanitation and other workers in the first phase.
Apart from COVID vaccine centers, the Ministry of Health and Population is working towards getting the immunization drive carried out through primary health centers in an effort to accelerate the first phase of COVID-19 vaccination. This will be first done in primary health centers of districts of the Tarai region and some hilly districts where the number of frontline health workers, security personnel, sanitation and other workers is high.
