CESIF Nepal is a not-for profit, autonomous and independent private research institution serving in the public interest, with significant independence from any donor or interest group and autonomy from the government.

CESIF is looking for qualified candidates for the position of 'Senior Researcher'. 

Qualifications required:
  • Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, or Public Policy.
    • MPhill or PhD in relevant field is advantageous
  • Demonstrated competence in research with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in international relations, geopolitics, political-economic research and analysis.
  • Able to take leadership of the entire research project
  • Good inter-personal and communication skills to deal with a number of diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent command in both written and oral English and commendable competence in presentation in Nepali language.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the research proposals, initiation of research study design, study protocol, the operating procedures and ensure smooth day to day operation of the research.
  • Lead and coordinate the research team in literature review, designing the data collection tools and methods and lead the team in data collection.
  • Identify and approach the potential informants and conduct interviews, coordinate/lead focus group discussions with the stakeholders if required.
  • Develop the framework for analysis and coordinate the data management in appropriate format.
  • Facilitate the selection of the field visit sites and execution of research activities in the field as required.
  • Lead the data analysis and preparation of the detailed research report.
  • Other activities as instructed or required in the course of implementation of research project.
