Infrastructure Governance in Nepal - Stakeholders' Discussion

Center for Social Inclusion and Federalism (CESIF) organised a Stakeholders' Focused Group Discussion on ‘Governance of Infrastructure Projects in Nepal’ on 20th January, 2023 at Basera Boutique Hotel, Kathmandu, Nepal.

This discussion brought together knowledgeable bureaucrats, business persons, journalists and economists to gain their insights regarding China’s approach to infrastructure investment in Nepal as compared to other countries. 

The discussion started with Ambassador Vijay Kant Karna delivering welcome remarks, followed by Mr. Amish Raj Mulmi from CESIF shedding light on the themes and issues to be addressed throughout the discussion. The panel of discussants included Former Secretary at Ministry of Industries Mr. Krishna Gyawali, Former Secretary at Ministry of Finance Mr. Lal Shanker Ghimire, Former Vice Chairperson of National Planning Commission (NPC) Mr. Govinda Raj Pokharel, entrepreneur Mr. Gyanendra Lal Pradhan, Journalist from The Kathmandu Post Ms. Krishana Prasain, Former World Bank Economist Mr. Roshan Bajracharya, Senior Research Fellow at IIDS Mr. Akhilesh Upadhaya, and Assistant Professor Ms. Apekshya Shah. Each of these individuals shared their useful insights on the topic at hand. Mr. Mulmi moderated the discussion.
