Infrastructure Governance in Nepal - Stakeholders' Discussion

Center for Social Inclusion and Federalism (CESIF) organised a Stakeholders' Focused Group Discussion on ‘Governance of Infrastructure Projects in Nepal’ on 13th February, 2023 at Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry's hall, Gairapatan, Pokhara, Nepal.

This discussion aimed at bringing knowledgeable academicians, business persons, journalist and industrialist of Pokhara to gain their insights regarding Pokhara's infrastructure governance. This discussion aims to analyze political economic implications of PIA and challenges on its sustainability, and its potential role in development of tourism in the region.

The discussion proceeded with welcome remarks made by Milan Acharya, a junior researcher at CESIF. Followed by Mr. Amish Raj Mulmi, a researcher at CESIF, shedding light on the themes and the issues to be addressed throughout the discussion. The discussion proceeded with discussants including the Preseident of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) Mr. Pawan Kumar Prajapati, the President of Lekhnath Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI) Mr. Chatrahar Atreya, Former member of Nepal Tourism Board Mr. Basu Tripathi, the former President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Mr. Ananda Raj Mulmi, business persons like Mr. Michael Karmacharya, Ms. Kamala Giri, Professors Mr. Than Bahadur Chettri and Devi Lal Sharma and members of PCCI and LCCI who shared their useful insights. The session was moderated by Mr. Amish Raj Mulmi.
